Madam Glam Tutorial // Soak-Off Gel Polish review

Hi guys! I am sooo glad to finally be able to write this review of Madam Glam Soak-Off Gel Polishes! I wrote the French post weeks ago, not without trouble, and it was impossible for me to translate it before now... You can read why at the end of the post, but for now, here is the video tutorial I made to show you how to use Madam Glam gel polishes!

If you can't see the video, here are the steps:
1 - Clean your nails with rubbing alcohol.
2 - Apply one coat of the base gel and place your nails under a UV lamp for 2 minutes (or 30 seconds under a LED lamp).
3 - Paint 1 to 2 coats of the gel polish of your choice. Dry your nails under the lamp between each coat. Here, I used Madam Glam #123 Not Only You & Me.
4 - Apply 1 coat of top gel and dry under the lamp.
5 - Use rubbing alcohol to clean your nails.

Try to be careful and only paint on the nail surface and not on your cuticles or on your skin. But if it happens, use an orange stick (or a nail, like I did in the video, lol).

Regarding the gel polishes used for this manicure, I had absolutely no problem to apply or remove them. And it didn't damaged my nails! I also did a small video about the removal but I had some much trouble to do the tutorial and to write this post, that I don't know if I will take the risk to edit another video, lol.

The gel color #123 (Not Only You & Me) is truly gorgeous. I thought it was more purple when I picked it on the website when there was no real swatch but it's still pretty. It's pink but it has blue shimmer that can make it look more purple under some lights.

You can purchase these soak-off gel polishes directly from Madam Glam. They retail at $19.95. And for my dear readers, use the code YT30OFF at check out to get 30% off ;)

In this post, there is my very first video tutorial and that was not so easy to do! First, I didn't know how to make this tutorial. I have a tiny desk already cluttered by a computer, a TV, the daylight lamp I use for my photos and several office items... I usually paint my nails just in front of my keyboard but I had to find another space since my camera would have been to far from my nails to film anything. And I also had to move the lamp to get the best lighting, and for that I had to move my television :( Then, I tried to paint my nails with a camera between my hand and my face and that wasn't easy either, lol. So I decided to only show one nail on camera and it's still not good... sorry! The video done, I chose to use Windows Movie Maker to make the tutorial, and this software almost made me lose my nerves. Between each click I had to wait at least 5 minutes to see the result, even for just a click on a tab, and several times it crashed for no reason. So I saved my work after each tiny change but sometimes it crashed before or when saving, so I had to do everything all over again... I don't even know how I was able to finish this video! Seriously, it took me two entire 3-day weekends to do it! Next step: upload the tutorial on YouTube! Easy right?! Well, no!! :( At this time, there was a heat wave in France, and no one and nothing here were used to these high temperatures. So much that the power plant of the area couldn't resist: small explosions and two fires in one day! So we were out of electricity until they fix the problem. No electricity = no computer = no video on YouTube! The electricity back I thought I could finally upload the video, but I was wrong, again! This time, no internet!!! Argh! The internet modem apparently didn't like the heat wave so we had to change it, but the new one didn't work either. So the problem was the line and not the modem. It happened on a Saturday and they couldn't send a technician before Tuesday, not cool! On Monday the problem was solve by itself (miracle?) so we cancelled the technician. Tutorial = check. Electricity = check. Internet = check. Yay, I'm logging on YouTube and then... thunderstorm!!!! A fracking thunderstorm!!!! So I had to turn off the computer and unplugged everything to avoid any damage (I already lost a computer because of a thunderstorm and I don't want to lose another one). The first weekend of July, I finally wrote my blog post on my French blog, woohoo!!!! But then I had the surprise for the wedding of my cousin to complete before the actual wedding the next weekend. She lives in the South of France and I live in the North so we drove across the country to attend this beautiful event and we spent the whole week there. I came back home on Sunday, I took two days for myself (well between unpacking, laundries etc...) and now I'm finally translating the review, phew!!! Ok, if you read everything, congratulations, lol XD
